Situated in the centre of the Lake Districts most popular village, Grasmere, Bakers Rest is ideal for a larger group or 2 families holidaying together. Converted from, as the name suggests, the old bakery, the property has been updated with all modern comforts, including en-suites in each bedroom. A few minutes walk brings you to the shops, restaurants, pubs and the lake.
The first and second floor maisonette is centrally heated and comprises:
First floor – The large dining/lounge with picture windows and open views towards Helm Crag is perfect for enjoying time together, comfy sofas are set around the TV and DVD player and the large dining table is perfect for enjoying a home cooked meal round.
The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare a sumptuous meal with electric oven/hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, washer/dryer and island breakfast table.
Double bedroom and twin bedrooms both with en-suite shower room, hand basin and WC.
Second floor – Double bedroom with en-suite shower room, hand basin and WC.
Twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.

Grasmere has a number of shops including gift, walking and convenience stores. Enjoy afternoon tea in one of the tea rooms or hotels, a bar meal washed down with a local ale in the pubs or enjoy a delicious meal in one of the restaurants if you are celebrating something special. The Heaton Cooper gallery is located in Grasmere opposite the village green where ice creams can be purchased and eaten while taking in the view of Helm Crag (known locally as the ‘Lion and the Lamb’). Surrounded by mountains the area is perfect for walkers wanting to explore and look down on the stunning scenery from the top, or for those looking for gentler walks, there are a number of low level walks to be enjoyed including Grasmere Lake. Once home to William Wordsworth, Dove Cottage is a favourite visitor attraction for young or old as is the famous Grasmere Gingerbread Shop. Ambleside, Windermere and Keswick are all just a short drive making it an ideal base for exploring the Lake District.
