Testimonials

“When you find a gem the temptation is to keep it secret, but in the interest of fair play ……  Bakers Retreat is in a perfect location within the town of Grasmere.  Access to wonderful hikes from the front door (Easedale Tarn, Helm Crag and Sergeant Man).  Tweedies pub and the excellent Jungle Room restaurant (remember to make reservations as it is always busy) are just a few steps away.  Reserved parking (not to be taken lightly in Grasmere) for two cars is a minute away.  The accommodation is tastefully decorated to a high standard and very comfortable.  The kitchen is fully equipped.  And if you want to stay in, then the view from the windows looking out towards Helm Crag is breathtaking.”
