The grade II listed building is a fine example of an Arts and Crafts House with many original features including fireplaces, leaded stone mullioned windows some with stained glass features, ornate cornicing and oak panelling.
The Hall dates bath to the 18th century but was extended in its current style in 1902. It is the major part of the development and has a private elevated position standing in its own extensive grounds. Situated at the foot of Whinlatter Forest, the Hall commands superb views over nearby Bassenthwaite Lake to the Skiddaw range towering above. Situated just off the A66 with easy access to Keswick 3 miles, Cockermouth 7 miles and Penrith 21 miles.
From the moment your approach up the sweeping driveway you will be impressed with this magnificent house and its setting. Retaining original features including beams, lead windows and oak panelling, the house oozes charm and sophistication. The large lounge brings the family together around an open fire and large 50” smart TV. Enjoy family meals in the dining room with the copper fireplace housing an open fire. The bespoke kitchen has all the equipment needed to cater for a large group with a range cooker and dishwasher, the separate utility room has a washer/dryer and storage area for walking gear.

A starter pack is included for the open fires and all bed linen and utilities are included. There is a £200 security deposit required for this property.

Thornthwaite sits close to the western shores of Derwentwater and within easy reach of Keswick with its many shops, pubs and restaurants. Ideally located for some of the more challenging walks within the Lake District including Catbells, Skiddaw and Helvellyn or for those looking for something less energetic there are low level walks around Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake. Whinlatter Forest is home to some of the best mountain bike trails in the lakes as well as Go Ape or for less strenuous sports there is fishing in the lakes.
