Enjoy afternoon tea in one of the tea rooms or hotels, a bar meal washed down with a local ale in the pubs or enjoy a delicious meal in one of the restaurants if you are celebrating something special. The Heaton Cooper gallery is located in Grasmere opposite the village green where ice creams can be purchased and eaten while taking in the view of Helm Crag (known locally as the ‘Lion and the Lamb’). Surrounded by mountains the area is perfect for walkers wanting to explore and look down on the stunning scenery from the top, or for those looking for gentler walks, there are a number of low level walks to be enjoyed including Grasmere Lake.
